Idromeccanica Lucchini has a long history of collaboration with training centres: the latest project at the Istituto Tecnico Agrario ‘Italo Calvino’, in Noverasco, is a concrete testimony of this. Thanks to the contributions from the Lombardy Region, we have built a new teaching greenhouse, an example of how resources can be put to good use to create innovative and functional learning environments.
A cutting-edge, cement-free greenhouse
The greenhouse, intended for agricultural production, complies with all European regulations and has one very important distinguishing feature: it does not require cement. This choice is particularly significant as it reduces environmental impact and simplifies installation. The Multyhortus greenhouse is a greenhouse that stands out for its volumetry and is one of the longest-lasting models among the multi-bay greenhouses in Idromeccanica Lucchini's tradition; it is also very useful for its ability to exploit the opening of the front, side and half-moon sides, keeping only the roof as a fixed element.
A project born from shared passion
The teachers involved in the project showed great passion and determination, firmly believing in the educational value of the greenhouse in training tomorrow's farmers. The structure was installed and equipped with an easy-to-use fertirrigation system to facilitate practical learning for the students as well as maintenance for the workers.
A green classroom to learn the value of the earth
The main goal of this project is to teach students how to cultivate and manage a greenhouse, thanks also to some agricultural chemistry labs that complement the school's curriculum. Students learn cultivation techniques, the necessary precautions and production control. The greenhouse makes it possible to grow a wide range of plants, from vegetables to floriculture, helping the students to understand seasonality and irrigation methods.
This project aims to make young people aware of the professions related to modern horticulture, passing on their passion and practical knowledge. The greenhouse represents a unique opportunity for the students to come into direct contact with nature and acquire useful skills for their future.
