The circular economy
The studies carried out by Idromeccanica Lucchini within its greenhouses have allowed the development of efficient models of circular economy. The plant, as a living organism, is not only a resource absorber, but also an emitter of products, erroneously considered to be "waste", through photosynthesis. The recovery of these resources: humidity, CO2, etc. makes them available for other basic production processes. To do this it was necessary to study all the vital factors for the plant: light (optical spectrum for photosynthesis and IR thermal ray that gives heat and energy to the plant), ideal climate management, temperature and humidity, Co2 concentration, through the sensor network, but also through a great agronomic knowledge. The resources are not only optimized, but those generated by the plant’s own growth process are reused. Our target is a 17% reduction the use of direct energy and involved in plant growth.
